What It Costs

If you are a business with ten or more working hard drives to dispose of, simply send them to us and we will pass them through our Hard Drive Neutralisation™ process free of charge. The platters removed during this process are then passed to our recycling partner for secure and documented recycling, and you will receive a Certificate of Disposal

If you are a computer recycling or disposal company currently shredding or crushing hard drives, we will take those drives from you free of charge and return just the platters once removed. This can reduce your waste by up to 95% compared to recycling the drives in their entirety.

How It Works

Once an unwanted hard drive arrives with us it is passed through the following stages:

  • Testing
    The drive is tested using state-of-the-art equipment which analyses the operation of all mechanical and electronic components; a test report is generated;

  • Erasing
    The drive is erased using US military grade software which replaces all data with zeros;

  • Neutralising
    The drive is then opened in a clean environment by a trained technician who carefully removes each of the platters, these are the actual discs within the drive which carry the data on a magnetic layer;

  • Recycling
    The removed platters are passed to our partner company for secure and documented recycling;

  • Cataloging
    Details of the drive, such as make, model and technical specs, are uploaded to our database and made available to data recovery companies who require hard drives for parts.

Disposal Certificates

Our internal processes are ISO 9001 certified and our clean environments are tested to ISO class 4, part of our ongoing commitment to quality and excellence. Our facilities are located on a secure site with 24-hour security, and the entire process is carried out in line with strict data security protocols.

Once the process is complete you will be issued a Certificate of Disposal for your records, emailed to you in PDF format.
